Matthew Warchus' big-hearted, smash hit production of Charles Dickens' immortal classic returns to The Old Vic, joyously adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, His Dark Materials) and starring Paul Hilton (The Inheritance, Lady Macbeth, Slow Horses) as Ebenezer Scrooge.

A beautiful, moving rendition of A Christmas Carol. Wonderful, creative, moving, amazing acting, amazing music. Truly fantastic. I took two of my teenage grandchildren who are doing it for GCSE! They can’t stop talking about it.

Great entertainment The whole show was just wonderful there was just nothing the one couldn’t like - grab your mince pies and or oranges as you go in otherwise you’ll miss out !

Lively, festive and magical! The fantastic cast brings this Victorian era Christmas story to life! Fabulous staging, festive music and magical effects make for a magical experience. Plenty of Christmas cheer to be had at the Old Vic. Thanks!

Well performed Overall, the actual show never fails to disappoint.
Unfortunately, our usual positive experience was marred by a school party in the rows behind ours.
They did not stop talking, yelling or laughing. Got our seats knocked during the performance. The teachers did not seem to have their group well controlled. Many of us sitting in our row had to repeatedly request the party to be respectful to the show, and those of us who paid good money to watch a performance we look forward to each year.

A Fabulous Show Not To Be Missed Never having been to this theatre before and on entering was thinking where is the stage?
Next thought was how could they put on a good show on such a small area!!
I was so wrong what a show, absolutely fabulous. The theatrical performance was great from everyone but the lead roll of Scrooge played by Paul Hilton was superb…there I was reaching for a tissue a couple of times.
The seats we had were Stalls E24 & E25 which was ringside to where the performance was being played out….expense but well worth it.
On our annual visit to London next year we will certainly be looking to see what is on at this Theatre. A great night

Clever Thoroughly enjoyed this production. It kept to the tale but added some very good tweaked script that readily fitted in with the tale. Cast were excellent very clear and some excellent bell ringing that all in all created a lovely christmassy atmosphere. Definitely recommend this show

Brilliant Festive Show I absolutely love this adaptation of A Christmas Carol, from the music, to the costumes, to the wonderful stage design. I enjoyed myself thoroughly and hope it comes back next year so I can watch it again!
